Weddings at the Hotel del Coronado The “del” demonstrated romantic potential even before it opened its doors in 1888. While still under construction in 1887, the resort celebrated its first wedding, when the daughter and son of two supervising engineers exchanged vows in the ballroom. With a variety of public settings and 42 public rooms, the Del can host weddings from small and intimate to large and grand. The four most popular locations are under the gazebo in the center garden courtyard of the original Victorian building, the Crown Room, the Ballroom and the newest venue, the Windsor Cottage and Lawn. The Coronado Island Marriott is one of the best wedding locations in Coronado;
offering certified wedding planners to assist in creating your dream wedding.
Their weddings certification program ensures a working knowledge and understanding of the many facets of the wedding business. They provide complimentary services, handling all of the event details and working closely with you to ensure the perfect wedding. Beach Weddings Coronado We suggest a cool and informal, yet chic dress in either a white or neutral color to really stand out against the beach. For the ceremony the guests can sit in front of the couple theater style with a center aisle for the couple to make their way to the altar. The best time to start the ceremony would be around 5:00 or 5:30 pm to allow the photographer to take pictures of the wedding before and during the sunset.
Coronado Beach WeddingsMake sure you’ll have access to the amenities you’ll need for a successful event. Are there restrooms available? If not, you’ll have to rent port-a-potties. You’ll probably need electricity, which is usually not found in nature, so find out if you need to rent a generator. Make sure guests know they’re attending a beach wedding, so they can dress appropriately. Is there a place for your guests to park? If not, consider having them park in a nearby lot and shuttling them over. Coronado Beach Wedding Decorate your tables with some fun beach-themed centerpieces: 1. Use some children’s shovel and pail sets 2. Buy large pillar candles with seashells embedded in the wax 3. Fill clear glass bowls with colored water. Layer the bottom with seashells and fake starfish 4. See if you can find some lighthouses to use as centerpieces 5. Create colored sand bottles Please note that you must have a permit from the del Coronado Chamber of Commerce Marriage Dept. for outdoor ceremony sites. |
