LA JOLLA WEDDING Wedding Reception La Jolla Outdoor wedding receptions are popular in La Jolla, but you need to keep in mind the following things: 1. The wind – plan decorations and tablecloths you can anchor attractively, choose weighted fabrics for the attendants, and consider the need for a sound system and mike clips 2. Your guests’ comfort – if it’s hot, provide iced bottles of water when they arrive, and hand fans, and if you have a tent, rent fans 3. You must have a Plan B in case rain pours down 4. The food – avoid perishable dishes 5. The sounds of nature – keep in mind that there may be birds chirping, dogs barking and kids screaming near your wedding site

Bowl La JollaCuvier Park, otherwise known as the “Wedding Bowl,” is the perfect ocean setting located at Coast Boulevard and Cuvier Street in the heart of La Jolla. The park site is located about five steps below street level so it is hard to see from the street. It overlooks Whale Watch Point and the Pacific Ocean. Try renting rooms across the street to get ready at the Scripps Inn. Parking is limited but the view breathtaking! Note: Site is permitted for weddings but not for receptions. La Jolla Beach Wedding The beach is a lovely wedding location. With any outdoor wedding, it is vital that the bride and groom work with their coordinator to establish a backup plan in the event of bad weather. One option is to plan to have only the ceremony on the beach and the reception inside. In the event of foul weather, you can simply hold the entire event in the room you planned to have the reception in, without incurring extra costs. La
Jolla Cove WeddingTucked between adjacent sandstone cliffs is La Jolla Cove, a very small beach. The basic rule of thumb is that any gathering of over 75 people requires a permit from the Park and Recreation Department. Weddings at La Jolla Coves also require permits. For permit information for your beach wedding in La Jolla, call Regional Parks at (619) 235-1169. If you or any of your guests have disabilities, please note that due to the steep hillside immediately adjacent, the beach itself is not wheelchair accessible. |
